I found myself in quite a bit of debt back in 2016. I was constantly pursued by organizations claiming they could get me out of debt quickly, this included MMI. I decided to talk and hear them out. They said they would help me get out of debt by negotiating with my debt collectors the lowest payments. So I signed up and became client number 34568145-1. They gave advice on saving for emergency situations, opening a savings account, etc. But these things I already knew and could have looked up on a reputable financial health advise website. I paid for months for a total of $750 to MMI thinking I had gotten the best deal in repaying the collectors. Till one day I came across some articles on settling debts, and of my own initiative contacted every single debtor/collector. Turns out I could have settled for a fraction of what I owed, and was able bring down monthly payments even lower than MMI had gotten me.
