How to Blur the Edge of an Image in Illustrator

Blurring the edges of an image de-emphasizes harsh borders and enables the image to better blend into the background. Adobe Illustrator CS6 accomplishes this event with either the Outer Glow or Feather feature. Considering the Outer Glow effect uses a defined colour, it is more than effective on images that take a relatively compatible color on the edges. Conversely, the Plumage event doesn't use a defined color. Instead, it simply feathers the existing colors effectually the border.

Blurring Outward With an Outer Glow

Step 1

Press "V" to enable the Choice Tool and then click the epitome.

Step 2

Access the dominant colors that brand up the edges of the image. If you've selected a shape with a solid fill or outline color, reference the color by clicking the "Outline" or "Make full" driblet-downwards arrow, clicking the "Swatch Options" icon and noting the percentages in the C, M, Y and One thousand fields. If the paradigm has an outline colour, assess the outline color, rather than the fill up color.

Click "Effect," "Stylize" and and then "Outer Glow."
